About
Hello! My name is Roxanne Roche, and I am truly honored to represent The City Beautiful, Orlando, as Mrs. Black Orlando in the Miss Black Florida Scholarship Pageant, which will take place on November 9th and 10th in Pinellas Park,FL.
As a proud Afro Caribbean-American, I embrace my cultural heritage and I am deeply committed to making a positive impact through community service. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Spanish and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida. Go Knights!
My dedication to community service is reflected in my extensive volunteer work both locally and internationally. I have had the privilege of volunteering in Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Texas, and throughout Florida. In addition to my volunteer work, I actively participate in my church community and enjoy exploring new cultures and going on cruises with my wonderful husband. Currently, I am collaborating with the Florida Health Department on chronic disease prevention and minority health efforts through my Prevention and Wellness Initiative.
Winning Miss Black Florida Scholarship Pageant will provide me with a larger platform to amplify these efforts, driving awareness and creating impactful change. This pageant is a powerful opportunity for me to advocate for health equity and ensure that every voice is heard.
Thank you for joining me on this journey toward making a difference!
My Platform
Crown Your Health: Reigning Over Chronic Disease and Championing Minority Wellness
As Mrs. Black Orlando, my platform focuses on Chronic Disease Prevention and Minority Health, deeply resonating with me as a proud Afro Caribbean-American . I have seen the impact of diseases like diabetes and heart disease on my family and community. According to the Florida Department of Health’s Orange Health Equity Plan, minority communities face higher rates of chronic conditions due to limited access to preventive care and education.
My Prevention and Wellness Initiative, in collaboration with the Florida Health Department, aims to address these disparities through community outreach and education. Winning Miss Black Florida will expand this platform, bringing more visibility and resources to these efforts. I am committed to advocating for health equity and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for supporting me in this crucial mission.
